At Preschool of the Arts we have created a warm, enriching, and
nurturing early childhood environment where we strive to imbue our
children with the foundation they need to mature socially,
emotionally, and cognitively. Our progressive Reggio inspired
philosophy promotes children’s learning through hands on experiences
and through opportunities for them to explore and discover the world
through all of their senses. We welcome and encourage parent
participation in our program and consider our partnership with
parents pivotal in shaping and enriching children’s early childhood
experience.
At Preschool of the Arts we take the Reggio philosophy’s strong
emphasis on an aesthetically pleasing environment inspired by nature
and enhanced with children’s artwork very seriously. The role of
our on staff atelierista is to uphold this doctrine by maintaining
the unparalleled beauty of our school, by inspiring teachers to
continually beautify their classrooms, and by encouraging children
to express themselves through a variety of art media.
Our early childhood program is led and inspired through the
collaborative teamwork of our school director, pedagogista, and
social worker. Their vision is masterfully carried out by our team
of superb teachers. We all work together as a community to enrich
our children’s early childhood experience. Our roles and visions
are continually evolving as we interact with and observe our
children. We are continually reexamining our understanding of
educational and psychological theory for the benefit of our
children.
At Preschool of the Arts we integrate the history, culture, and
traditions of Judaism, with a broad spectrum of educational concepts
including science, math, social studies, literacy, and the arts.
Our mission is to provide a rich and joyous learning environment
that will stimulate our children’s minds, nurture their souls, and
embrace the wonder and beauty of our Jewish and American heritage.
